In 2017, William Paini and Amy Carpenter founded Active™ by OrthoGum in Denver, Colorado. With a shared background in dentistry and a passion for helping people feel confident in their smiles, they began developing thoughtful solutions to support everyday oral care.
Through this work, they recognized a need for something simple, effective, and convenient—especially for maintaining a fresh, balanced oral environment throughout the day. Combining their clinical insight with a focus on high-quality ingredients like xylitol and coconut oil, Cocogum was created.
Cocogum is designed to fit seamlessly into daily life, offering an easy way to support oral health—anytime, anywhere.
WILLIAM PAINI, DDS

Dr. Paini is a licensed general and cosmetic dentist, and a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Oral Systemic Health and Metro Denver Dental Society. Dr. Paini earned his degree at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He’s actively involved in continuing education and training in the field of aesthetic dentistry, oral health, leading-edge materials and technology.
Dr. William P. Paini founded Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry in 2004. He is experienced in advanced dentistry and cosmetic treatments with a passion for providing a gentle and relaxing experience for his patients. Dr. Paini practices a full scope of general dentistry, restorative dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry with expertise ranging from porcelain veneers to dental implants, dental crowns, and bridges.
AMY CARPENTER, RDH, MBA

Amy Carpenter began her career in dentistry in 1993! Working as a Dental Assistant for seven years, Amy decided to further pursue her love of dentistry and graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Continuing her love of education, Amy received her Masters of Business Administration from Colorado State University. In Utah, Amy participated on the Utah Dental Hygienists Association Board of Trustees, holding several different offices, including President. Amy’s drive and passion to further her education is apparent and demonstrated by the manner in which she educates her patients about their oral health using the newest technology and research.
